I'm Maria — an English and Spanish teacher who believes language learning should feel human, useful, and fun.

Background

I grew up in Spain and have always loved languages. Through my life I have experienced new languages and cultures first hand and love to bring these experiences into my lessons.

Teaching experience

Over 6 years and 4.000+ hours of lessons with students from absolute beginner to advanced (C1), small group classes, 1‑on‑1, and corporate programs.

Teaching philosophy

Languages are built through small, regular, meaningful moments — not perfection. My job is to make those moments feel safe, lively, and engaging.

BA in English language and Literature
TEFL 160+ — Teaching certificate equivalent to a CELTA with a strong focus on class materials, methodologies and grammar
Preply TEFL Certification — A teaching certificate specially made for online tutoring on the platform with a strong focus on how to teach English to students from diverse backgrounds
